My reponse to Marineland's letter to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans:

A minute isn’t nearly enough to say goodbye to a friend as accomplished as Jim Bradley. But it was important for me to rise in the House and pay tribute to his remarkable life of service.

Marineland requested federal approval to sell beluga whales to a facility in China. The Minister of Fisheries has rightly denied that request.

To borrow a line from Shakespeare, Jim Bradley was as constant as the Northern Star.

Horrific news from the Kiwanis Aquatics Centre in St. Catharines, where a child was tragically killed. Words can’t express the heartbreak. Our community mourns with the family and loved ones. In moments like this, we must come together and support one another.

CBC is reporting today that the French and Mahaffy families are being prevented from delivering an in person victim impact statement at Paul Bernardo's upcoming parole hearing. The reason for this decision is that the Parole Board believes that it cannot guarantee the safety of the families. 1/2
