Trump's Golden Dome and Stargate (not to speak of Musk's deranged Mars ambitions) alongside China's mega-infrastructure projects (high speed rail etc) are proof that we are not just in a time of MAGA, but also of MEGA. Megalomania, a typical trait of "high modernism", is coming back BIG time.

Trump appears to have no qualms about undermining the foundations of US cultural and scientific leadership. If this continues, it is not far-fetched to imagine a future where China’s top unis particularly those in the C9 League - become more appealing to int'l students than Ivy League institutions.
