Mostly talking to myself. Bipolar 2. Lots of politics. Lots of movies. Lots of hope.

#Andor
has been a stunning piece of work from start to finish. Rogue One is a great standalone movie but hits so much harder after watching the incredible prequel series.

Just finished the excellent "Shroud" by
@aptshadow.bsky.social
. A terrifying first contact novel that shows the near impossibility of understanding or being understood by non-terrestrial life. I highly recommend it.

I really liked
#Thunderbolts
which was a surprisingly emotional film for me. I have bipolar disorder and I recognised my depression in both Yelena and Bob's characters. I was not expecting that from a superhero film and it elevated the movie. A real high note to end Phase 5 on.

Just turned on the news to discover that the Pope is still dead. Why news organisations have to go so over the top with coverage of any world leader passing is beyond me.

I've really enjoyed the new season of

There's a news presenter who insists on saying the year as "two thousand and twenty five". Don't know why this winds me up but it really does. Pretty sure they didn't used to say the year "one thousand, nine hundred and ninety five".

If

had spent his first term rebuilding the country's manufacturing infrastructure, his bonkers tariffs might make a bit more sense. Unsurprisingly, the daft bastard has done things arse backwards.

Reminder, PIP is because being disabled costs more to just exist in a world where we have different needs than the majority. A lot of disabled people work and are *and should be* eligible for extra help to level the playing field.

My experience of central government is that it is vastly under-administered, there's almost no-one around, and everyone who is has a memory that goes back to the Coalition if you're lucky. But go ahead, hollow it out some more.

Civil Service told by government to slash running costs by 15%
The target is said to be administrative costs - but unions have challenged ministers to be upfront about what areas of work they are prepared to sacrifice as a result.

I'm certainly glad that Rachel Reeves isn't pursuing a policy of austerity by cutting spending to all government departments, following years of cuts and under investment. That would be terrible! Fuck this
#Labour
leadership for cosplaying as rampant Tories.

Those who say that mental illness is over diagnosed have never battled the system to get a diagnosis. It took me 13 miserable years to get my bipolar diagnosis and I know this is the norm rather than the exception.

I'm looking forward to Rachel Reeves' autumn budget statement where she will presumably declare that
#Labour
are reopening workhouses and jailing people for unpaid civil debt. This current leadership makes me sick to my stomach and I feel ashamed that I voted for them.

Cutting essential aid to millions so that we can buy more bombs in order to appease psychopaths. Disgraceful, shameful and short sighted. The current leadership of the Labour Party keeps taking actions that the Tories would be proud of.
