I'm happy to see Caryma Sa'd express her displeasure at the attacks I faced on the basis of my appearance in her comments section. I would call this kind of behavior out no matter the target because ultimately all it does is perpetuate systems of oppression and particularly misogyny.

Absolutely, 100% this. I'd add that this rhetorical dishonesty (let's call it what it is: lying) is reflected in public policy. A government that won't call out Trump at all for anything isn't going to be keen (and they haven't been) to implement policies that will actually protect Canada.
