This is a good move, but it would be better if they'd also removed the need to have a referendum to raise council tax above 5%. Richer southern councils could charge more to cover the gap. As a % of property value, tax is way lower than in poorer areas.

This is so alarming😧 Given that children with speech and language challenges are the largest group of SEND support, it's so concerning that children with SEND are over FIVE TIMES more likely to be permanently excluded from school. They need support, not further isolation!

It is horrendous that Govt. has allowed EYDPD to close without providing an alternative, especially when they claim #EarlyYears are a priority. Children need early years staff who know how to support their speech, language, personal, emotional and social development. We can't fail them!
