I just came across this gem from a few years ago. A squirrel was obsessed with the pet store manager and kept sneaking in. This time he quickly made his way to the cat furniture and posed for a photo.

Fireworks spooked a dog in Herring Cove and she was found by the GoodLife on Joseph Howe. Too many people don’t realize how stressful fireworks are for animals. Or they don’t care. Jackson is heavily medicated and Syd is stuck to my side - fireworks into their third hour around here.

What a lovely vacation day: nice long dog walk, lunch with my girls at a diner near where we used to live, some thrifting and just having time to spend together. Naturally my weakness for books led to a little thrifted stash.

Stay off the roads if you can #halisky. It’s sheet of ice. The dogs and I managed to get two houses up before turning around and sliding back down the hill.

I think tomorrow will feel like the first day of real vacation. No obligations, nothing pressing (except the eventual scaling of laundry mountain). With gross weather coming, I’m very thankful to only have to get the dogs walked and can otherwise stay in my PJs and read.

Another awesome day. After Fort Massey’s final service, I grabbed some groceries and met a dear friend at Tea for Turtle Teahouse. They make a great latte and London fog. Highly recommend! #halifax #teahouse #photography

I took the day off yesterday and treated the dogs to a trip to the pet store after our morning walk. Syd decided to pee on a stack of dog beds. I didn’t plan to buy three beds yesterday but here we are. Anyone in the market for a medium sized freshly laundered bed… or a dog? 🤦🏻

I got to spend some time with my youngest kid and my granddog today. This is Azzie 🥰

I had to brave Costco to pick up a prescription this afternoon. $4 meal never gets old. It’s not the healthiest option but cheap wins especially at this time of year!

I waited 40 minutes for a bus and it was such a relief to get into a warm space. I can’t imagine waking up in these temperatures. My heart hurts for all the people sleeping rough.

Birthday lunch with my girls today to celebrate my eldest’s birthday 💞

My sweet Jackson is at the vet. He developed a terrible hot spot on his hip and it doubled in size overnight. Low grade fever. They’ll shave him further, clean his wound and sent us home with cleaning supplies, pain meds and antibiotics. Poor little man.

I took off early today to spend some time with my youngest. She treated me to a hot mess of greasy diner food at the Westcliff in exchange for being dragged around the mall.

After a rocky start, it turned out to be an awesome day. Halifax Jazz Festival hosted two Charlie Brown Christmas concerts this weekend. I caught some of it then off to creative studio photo session. My cup is full and I’m beat!

I swallow a crown from my tooth this morning in case anyone else had a rough start to their day.
