international woman’s day breakfast was great this morning … i had a lot of conversations about my lack of glasses. 😂 followed it with coffee with a friend at café311, then a long walk with cocoa in the sunshine. i’ve been feeling really discombobulated this week, and today felt very grounding.

i looked at the sailgp site out of curiosity. not only do they charge $100s for tickets, get millions in government support, and are owned by the uber rich … they encourage you to make an extra contribution when you buy a ticket to offset the carbon footprint of travel to the event.

this morning is the local international women’s day breakfast. how am i supposed to dress cute when it’s -20c/feels like -27c outside!? why isn’t mother nature a girl’s girl!?!

cocoa did daycare again today and it seems like she had a great day … she’s zonked out on the couch with a full belly.

the air puff test at the eye doctor is less intimidating after you’ve had cataract surgery.

so, i assumed, when i'm in the shower, cocoa just hangs out outside the bathroom/in my office ... because that's where she usually is when i get out of the shower. this morning, i found a sock (that had been in a slightly open drawer) in the upstairs hallway.

i have my post-cataract surgery eye doctor appointment today to sort out what i need for glasses ... because wearing my computer glasses with the left lens popped out is getting old.

not only was there new snow to eat this morning, but soul (neighbour's dog) was outside with her mom this morning and 6:45am fence zoomies were had. so, cocoa's having a great day.

sunday walk was a bit of a bust. i dressed too warm and got cranky about it. we had to walk an extra 2km because a stopped train blocked our way home. we had to avoid the guy who yells and swears at people. and cocoa stepped in some other dog’s poop. but happy march, i guess?

so, last night i watched the episode of “dead like me” where george reaps an old woman with dementia … and i spun out because the woman’s soul still had dementia after she died and that’s not how it’s supposed to be. mom’s been gone 9 years in may and this shit still breaks me.

i had lunch with @ashtonal.bsky.social yesterday and coffee with my friend raissa this morning … my cup runneth over from quality time with people i love.

my memories tell me 6 years ago i was waking up in palm springs. i was there for 10 days, and the way the pandemic became a bigger and bigger deal during that time was wild. when i got there, it wasn't even in the top news stories ... by my last trip to target, the toilet paper stock was low.
