I see a lot of scripts where the file name encodes some structure. Like analysis_this.do, analysis_that.do and plot_this.do, plot_that.do If you have such a clear structure, you are best served by folders. It just as easy to write "src/analysis/whatever.do" as "src/analysis_whatever.do".

I had a dream about giving a high-profile talk totally unprepared. Like, I had drafts of slides from months ago. The place was packed. I saw Ricardo Reis and Ralph Ossa in the audience. I was in panic. Luckily, neither the mic, nor the projector worked. It was a disaster, but, hey, not my fault.

I routinely get surprised by my own models. Have an intuition, write it down formally, see where the math takes you. Wow. Then try to understand the intuition again. This back and forth is rarely visible in finished papers, where it's only math + intuition. But this is ex post intuition.
