Any time I don't post anything anywhere, I feel like it implies I'm just...not working on things. I actually have 2 more design sheets to get to this point of un-finished but my clock is running out and I need to get moving on pages, so here's a quick peep at my last week and a half!

About to take a break from this gigantic design packet to make lunch, and my choices are spicy kimchi noodle bowl or carbonara buldak spicy ramen, so I'm basically choosing between two varieties of suffering for Future August to experience!

Current mainstream studios have -no- idea how to replicate success because it means actually taking risks. they stumble into it by accident or try to jump on the coat tails of people who do. Then they reap the benefits while avoiding unions and undercutting the very resources that lead to hits.

Kept hearing a weird noise through my noise cancelling headphones and the podcast I was listening to, and it turns out there's a pigeon wandering around across the road and my deaf cat was staring at it from the window next to my chair + making extreme hog noises about them. He is So Sounds.

And for the record? You get over being bad at something really quickly. There is a very thin line between obsessing over whether every panel is a tiny masterpiece and being thankful that a panel is serviceable--that it accomplishes something that needs done. That line is different for everyone, but:

Switching from output to input is usually a good way to recharge creative batteries... If one can fight off the anxiety of NOT PRODUCING long enough to do it. Lol

Update: it happened again, but instead of with drawing, I had a really productive planning conversation with @femonologue.bsky.social and then went into some sort of fugue state and emerged with a full outline that went in a completely different direction than I intended!
