Heading home with many ideas for next year 🙂‍↕️

This will be the first year I ever go home with unsold Sharkpups. Last year I pulled crowds at my booth and sold out by lunch at Sunday, so this is surprising and REALLY hitting just how hard the year is. I was really relying on this con. Definitely need to re-pivot if I want to come back next year

Headsup for Canadian folks, esp those with pending kickstarters - US is refusing packages that are DDU. Chitchats is already suspending some of its options for US mailing. Basically this move just flatlines Canadian indie folks in the KS space.

BUT numbers aside I had a wonderful time and met some very wonderful people! Got some good drawing and brainstorming in and looking forward to bringing you guys more Lil Char when I’m back home ❤️

Unfortunately this was my worst FanExpo yet 😔 I was hoping the funds for this would help with rent and further product, but I’ve made less than half of my projections based on the last couple of years. Will have to figure things out another way!

The Animation Industry is in such bad shape, you guys. The amount of raw talent and power it is losing because it's not providing a sustainable living is a tragedy that future generations will study with grief. If you're supporting artists right now: thank you.

Sometimes working in animation for multiple years means you slowly amalgamate different styles into your own. Drawing the beaks for Donald and the ducks for half a decade has irreversibly altered how I draw cartoon beaks.

This might be a bit of a zig-zag for me. I’ll get back to my regular girly stuff soon.
