Anyway I'm glad my first Saturn game is Burning Rangers. I really should get a Satiator or something for it sometime so I can experience the Saturn library without having to pay a million billion dollars for each game (that's a lot of money).

Like look at how cool these characters and designs are...this game rules even if I suck at it currently due to a language barrier haha. SEGA really should give this IP another shot.

Sometimes I kick myself for not getting certain retro games like a year ago. In the time since the prices on some of them have grown a lot more :/. I also stopped looking at a lot of places that aren't in Canada because USD + shipping cost on top just makes it way too expensive.

I think I made good progress today on the UI system but it feels like I have plenty to go still. Making some helper functions will help. I separated a lot of what I had into components now that I can better manage them. So I can sort of plug and play pieces of each element type.

Making games should come with this disclaimer: "Making UI sucks and is hard. Oh god why is it so hard" I'm gonna feel like a champ someday.

I hope next race Valtteri Bottas' car doesn't catch fire like I get that his bottASS is powerful but like you gotta build a car to account for that heat.

Basically it's like I wanna try and support bungie's endeavours but they made a game that doesn't appeal to me except for aesthetically haha. I hope they can get new projects off the ground. I'd even take a good single player game from em honestly.

I keep hoping for a full on pivot to a destiny like experience for marathon before I ever try it. I keep seeing stuff about its PvE stuff incoming and all, but I want something more rpg like I think. I am beginning to think marathon will never be that for me (which is fine).

Been programming today. Trying to clean up the UI stuff still + add a few more things and do some test setups for menus. It's a tiny bit spaghetti again but I just need it to work, so it's a constant cycle of cleaning up code and then making a mess and cleaning it up again.

This is why I don't love engaging publicly about fandom stuff. Not everyone interprets art the same way, and so a lot of community headcanons for things end up suffocating discussions I'd like to have because if you don't see it the same you are treated with incredible hostility.

My hottest deltarune take I've learned over time is that I don't like Ralsei, I never have. I don't trust him I don't like him and he annoys me haha. I keep hoping for a reveal that he is super evil. But I know that's just my dislike for him talking LOL.

My no spoiler review of deltarune chapter 5 is this: -it's really good!!! BUT... -some patterns don't feel fun/fair/visually a mess. I have astigmatism which doesn't help. -some lag/slowdown in odd spots on switch 2. - I'm maybe getting tired of the episodic release format (this is a me thing)
