NYT confirms that Universal Studios is developing plans for Wicked theme park attractions… but where?

In Florida the theme park vlogging world is hugely competitive. Vloggers race to have a video for a new hotel edited and published by 1pm (local Orlando time) of the same day they checked in. Hats off to those creators. I can’t even imagine the pressure to race & be first there.

Maybe we just shouldn’t use TikTok then?

I had no idea that Thierry Coup was principal production designer of DisneySea’s mysterious island. I feel like I only knew about his accomplishments overseeing projects as creative director. Makes that man’s career even that much more impressive to me.

Somehow our Osaka food tour video is outpacing all of our Japan videos except two of them (and this includes Fantasy Springs and USJ). I did not expect this. 😲

One of my favorite things to do is to go back through the older videos of a YouTube channel we’ve recently discovered and skip around watching as the creators evolve from their early days when they were trying to figure out their storytelling style into what they are today when we discovered them.

My YouTube shorts stream is just some guy named Josh who orders lots of food at restaurants and gives it to homeless people, a photographer who surprises people on the street with a photo session, and a woman named Simji who surprises businesses with rugs. It’s delightful.

I was surprised at how different things were, even when it looked very similar!

Years ago when I wanted to go to Tokyo one of the things I wanted to do was called the Robot Restaurant, it was a ridiculous stage show thing. Sadly it closed down during the pandemic before our first visit to Japan. Good news: it’s back (kinda). We show it and a lot more in this video!

I don’t even watch traditional television anymore. Don’t have cable. Rarely put on streaming services. 90% what we watch is YouTube.

3 out of the top 5 videos currently being watched on our channel right now are videos that are over 3 hours long. 😮 I remember when people said if you made a YouTube video over 15 minutes people wouldn’t watch it 😂

I love this concept art for Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond shop coming to Disneyland but let’s be real, it’s not going to look like this because all those shelves won’t be filled with old looking relics or books it will be the latest bright loungeflys and spirit jerseys.

I’ve noticed that most YouTube gurus are guys behind a desk at a home studio teaching creator educational content and thus most of the advice they tend to dole out are from the pov of someone who is creating niche searchable educational content shot in a studio and not things like normal vlogs.

I now open my email inbox in the morning, and everything inside is something I want to read. I cannot stress enough how taking a period of time to just unsubscribe to anything that comes to you that you don’t want will change your digital mornings!

Wicked was WOW, so good. @jonmchu.bsky.social is a master at turning musical dance numbers into modern cinematic artistry. But almost every moment I was thinking, this world screams to be made into a theme park land that can be explored and experienced at @universalorl.bsky.social

Took a pause on my diet (and medication) for a month which included a cruise and a few weeks in Japan and only gained 2 pounds total. That’s a win.

I hope that there will be a place future generations can experience Jim Hensons’s last film, and not without all the animatronics that are meant to go along with the experience.

Coming home today after being in Japan for a few weeks, I feel like how Marty McFly must’ve felt when he thought he was back home but he had really returned to a dark alternate 1985 where Biff was in charge of Hill Valley.

We just landed back in America after being gone for two and a half weeks in Japan, did anything happen while we were gone?!

The fact that WDI and Disney cared enough to fix the Eiffel Tower makes me happy because I feel under Chapek era the line of thinking was “it’s not worth the cost of fixing it”
