PREDATOR: BADLANDS is maybe only my 4th favorite PREDATOR movie but it's also still really good. A testament to this franchise's increasingly fantastic batting average under Dan Trachtenberg. If you're going to make X number of sequels in a given franchise, don't be boring. This is far from boring.

My surgery went well! I no longer have a gaping hole in my ear and with any luck, in several weeks, will have a functional eardrum again. After 5 months, dozens of doctors visits, tons of pain, medicine, missed work and thousands of dollars, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Ive been broke as sin for most of my adult life. Grew up poor. Anyone who's struggled will never forget such kindness. I've been fortunate to have good people in my life. I remember stuff like my roommate splitting a pizza with me. Helping people not be hungry shouldn't be remotely controversial.

My boy Mason joined me for an 8 (ish) mile run - in the fog no less! Beautiful weather. Nice to get one last long one in before I'm laid up for a while. We won’t focus on him locking his keys in his car and the journey we had to go on as a result. Minor details. Onward.

There is nothing worse than desperately wanting to love a movie that has been hyped to oblivion and merely liking the movie while also having that awful tinge of, "I don't see what the big deal is."
