👋 my recent contracts have ended (and my buffer’s running a bit thin) so I’m looking for what’s next spent the last year focused on OSS work, which I’ve loved, and now open to new opportunities! if you’re looking for a dev, pls to reach out! I've shared more about how I work below 🫡

The funnier one to me is sports gambling websites adding prediction markets Same app Same outcome But if you click this button you’re “predicting” and it’s unregulated and totally legal for teens Click this other button and you’re “betting” and it’s TOTALLY DIFFERENT

Normalising taking breaks from time to time is the healthy behaviour I wasn’t expecting from a project that just exploded in popularity. Maybe this is the takeaway: in an ever-accelerating world, it’s absolutely ok to pause. It’s necessary.

also please nominate great devs that haven’t been on the show. it’s important to me that the show includes real representation of industry devs in addition to bringing on recognizable community folks

atproto is part of the web. we just haven't had time to standardize it yet. atproto should feel like any other web feature, don't talk about it with your non-dev friends, just use it where it makes sense. humans are social beings, so you'll probably end up using it on every website :)

BIG DAY 😇 Introducing Standard Schema! It’s a specification for a standard interface to be implemented by TypeScript schema libraries. The goal is to make it easier for frameworks and tools to accept user-defined schemas, without writing separate adapters for different libraries.

The reason other social networks don’t promote links is because they can sell more ads in a captive network Bluesky not suppressing links is an indicator that ads won’t be a major source of revenue

And most of the comments and quotes from OSS maintainers happened here. I don't know about other communities, but OSS web dev is a bluesky game now.

Weird to engage twice in a back and forth and then block (after having the last word and with nothing hostile in the exchange) Shows that you picked a specific point of discourse to defy understanding / empathy Very clearly denotes a lack of charitability IMHO
