Science IRL decisions went out today! We were able to fund 13 of the 77 proposals that were submitted. They are communicating science in stage productions, boxes at bus stations, interactive frog statues, musical performances, farmers market tables, backs of cars, knitting clubs, and much more.

Absolutely exciting to get to venture and work in my first ever museum collections! Delaware Museum of Nature & Science... our Brachioteuthid fun begins tomorrow!! Technically today... but it was only for thirty minutes! Also got to see my favorite (second) cephalopod up close! Vampyroteuthis!!!

Brachioteuthis squids have these extremely long necks as paralarva, which give them a very goofy appearance.

Ha... my Masters project originally included Chaetogaster! Until we found out that my collaborator accidentally told me and another lab to do it, and he forgot😅. Easy fix! And Dr. Bely and co did a fantastic job finding MANY new species in this family... 24 mostly cryptic species!! From 3 -> 24!
