I despise how the phrases “it’s not X, it’s Y” and “You’re not just X, you’re also Y,” now make me immediately suspicious it’s AI writing. They’re both useful ways to combine ideas but it’s so pervasive now seeing either of them is an immediate ick for me.

YouTube has made many changes I dislike over the years but one of the most frustrating is it automatically trying to start a full playlist every time you open a music video of any kind, and the only way to actually stop it is by changing the url and reloading. I want to listen to one thing dammit!

I’ve never been a fan of shorts as a form of content creation…much more a long form content person…but I’m seeing an uptick lately in clip comps being just shorts…which means 3/4 of the screen is just black the whole time. That narrowing of the screen on longer content is awful to watch personally

One thing that’s always baffled me with Nintendo’s design philosophy is that no Zelda game that is a direct sequel is allowed to reference its predecessor. From PH only calling Ganondorf the evil king, to TotK plot holing Sheikah tech, it’s never referential. I always wonder why do a sequel then?

One of the many, many negatives about the world with GenAI is needing to read everything looking for AI signs and skepticism. It’s infuriating how the phrase “it’s not X, it’s Y” has become a red flag, because that’s a genuinely useful sentence when not used as a part of AI word salad. Fuck GenAI

I don’t know why cozy life sim/decorating games have decided you’re not allowed to have permanent upgrades anymore but I would really like them to stop. ACNH with breakable golden tools and now Pokopia with upgraded skills being temp buffs. Nothing more flowbreaking than running out of gas deep in.

I think my personal brand of moron is summed up well by me being paralyzed with indecision on where to place my house in Pokopia. I’ve delayed it by two hours and even now I still have no clue, especially knowing this is all going away more than likely and housing reads as more permanent.

Now that the dust has settled on the Gen 10 reveal, I think my biggest fear is the costume Pikachu are going to be major characters especially with the website calling them out as Mr Winds and Ms Waves. Pointless pandering is one of my biggest yucks with Pokémon and this worries me a bit.

Was convinced to get the Etrian Odyssey HD trilogy. I only ever played the first one, been replaying…I find it hilarious the only difficulty the DS one had is now the hardest choice. Also as an adult I can see how wildly unbalanced things are and it’s fun messing with those. Having nostalgic fun.
