Sustainable Living ♻️🌊 1/2 As our last project of Primary 6 we have decided to create our own sustainable communities. Last week we designed our communities and created a map. This week we are looking forward to building our cities with junk modelling, clay and LEGO 👷🏼‍♀️🧱

Theme Park Maths update 🎢 Today we had to calculate the running costs of our park. We had to estimate the running costs of our rides and remember to pay our employees and cover costs of cleaning and maintaining our park. This was a lot more money than we were expecting 🤯

Over the past 2 weeks we have been visiting primary 3 to make some flags and summer fans with them. We loved being able to help the P3’s and become teachers ourselves 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☀️ @missmci-bps.bsky.social @mrsmclachlan.bsky.social

Last week we welcomed Stevie, Ross and Karen back to our school to showcase our finished Little Kerse Projects 👷🏼‍♀️ We presented some fantastic podcasts, videos and booklets 👏🏼🤩

Reminder that P6M have Bikeability Monday to Thursday this week (WB 26th May.) -pupils should dress appropriately for cycling 👟 -own helmets can be brought to school for these sessions. (Long hair is best to be tied back for these too.) 👱🏼‍♀️ -school bikes will be used for these lessons. 🚴🏼‍♂️

Theme Park Maths 🎢 Today we started our theme park maths mini project. We have been given a budget to build our park and have certain success criteria to meet. We will be working on this over the next few weeks 😁 We will keep you posted with updates on how we are getting on 🤩

We have recently been studying a variety of literacy techniques over a series of lessons. We have looked at adjectives, adverbs, imperative verbs and prepositions. We created our own dragon training guides to share our knowledge 🐉👏🏼 1/2

Practical Science Stem Week 1/4🧬🧪👩🏼‍🔬 We really enjoyed visiting the Careers Fayre and learning about different jobs that involve practical science.

Spring Acrostic Poems 🌻🍃🐑

This term we have been learning about Measurement and Instruction writing. We put our learning into a real life context by baking our own vanilla cupcakes. 🧁 We had to follow the recipe and weigh out our own ingredients ⚖️ 👩🏼‍🍳

Little Kerse Visit 👷🏼‍♀️⚽️ We had the best time visiting little Kerse last week as part of our Building our Future Together project. We got the opportunity to ask questions to the different trades involved in the project 🔨🚜🏦

Craft, Design and Engineering Stem Week 2/2 👷🏼‍♀️ We built our ride’s using the K’nex. This was a new resource to us so we found it difficult to work with at first but we all helped each other to be successful 👍🏼✂️

Craft, Design and Engineering Stem Week 1/2👷🏼‍♀️ Our task brief was to create a new amusement ride for the shows at the Children’s day 🎡 We had to brainstorm and plan what our ride would look like and how we were going to use the K’nex materials we had been given to build it 🔨

Uniform Drop-In Shop Tomorrow 9:30am-2:30pm We have donations some new and lots of used uniform items and jackets. 🧥👚👔👕 We also have lots of unclaimed lost property. Bring and fill a bag. 👍🛍️ @beancrossprimaryschool

Building our Future Together 👷🏼‍♀️🔨 We have been so excited to get started on this project with Little Kerse and DYW. We explored the role of an Architect, completed information posters showing our findings and shared this with our peers. How fantastic are these posters 👏🏼👏🏼 @dywforthvalley.bsky.social

During term 3 we took part in some rugby taster sessions. We all loved being able to get outside and active. Playing Hawick ball helped us to develop our communication and teamwork skills. 👍🏼🏉

Food and Textiles Stem Week ✅ Careers Fayre to learn about different jobs in the food and textile industries. ✅ Up cycling our T-shirts into no sew bags. ✅ Making our own sausage rolls. We had so much fun - the best part was definitely eating the sausage rolls 👍🏼🤩
