Unsurprisingly, I played a bunch of GBVSR this year. Fighting games are just a great little “get better at this one thing” project. I only played Rivals for about 2 months before burning out and dropping it, but it managed to get up here by sheer force of how intensely I played it at the time.

Maybe it's just my music background speaking, but I freaking love video game music and how much a good soundtrack can skyrocket a game's memorability into the stratosphere.

Random thought: If you really want to intimidate someone before playing a game, one of the best methods may very well be a well-practiced button rebind.

I'm really worried about the future. I feel like the trend of discourse isn't learning and growing, but looking for "gotcha" info (even if it's misunderstood or flat-out wrong) to win an argument at any cost. There is strength in acknowledging your own mistakes or weaknesses and learning from them.
