The idea that removing workplace regulations around safety and wages improves them because "competitive" is absolutely bullshit. There's nothing preventing higher safety standards or competitive pay right now. The companies doing the bare minimum? They'll do worse when the minimum regs are gone.

The kid has been at day camp the past two weeks and has done exceptionally well. After two challenging school years in a row, it's been a big relief. He's adapting well. Hopefully this will help him for September.

#RIP two of my characters' entire families as the city went up in smoke in front of all them. And to think I had planned on making characters that weren't traumatized this time....

Moved my "office" upstairs, and its amazing what a difference just being out of the basement is making. I actually *want* to do things at my desk again instead of from the couch. Also gives me a good opportunity to start streaming again. So maybe that's in the works too?

Ended up caving and getting a yarn winder and yarn swift this weekend. Now that I'm working with a lot more hand dyed and higher end yarns, I've been struggling with unwinding them and need a more efficient process. Can't say I find it as relaxing as others do, but it helped.

This shouldn't be an unpopular opinion or hot-take. Smut isn't everyone's cup of tea, and it's not even *always* every smut reader's cup of tea. If you can't put out romance books without smut, you're alienating a lot of readers. Not every story benefits from it.

Me: I'm finally getting so much writing done! I've written so many chapters in the past few weeks. Friend: Oh you're making progress on your novel! Yay! Me: *pauses*... oh no... I've written a whole bunch of fanfiction... and maybe a couple of paragraphs on my novel.

We're watching Gilmore Girls and it's the ep where Rory gets in trouble for not being anti-social. Hubs asked if that happened at my school. Closest was: When I stayed in at recess to read and write and be anti-social too much, they made me go outside... where I read and wrote and was anti-social.

Reminder: Tear Gas is banned for use in war. Using it when fighting is a war crime. Using against civilians, while technically legal, is inhumane and vile.

My current active PCs for my various D&D games are pretty near untraumatized/have had very minimal dramatically torturous experiences and this is all very new to me. Don't worry. At least some of them are still a little unhinged. Like my klepto rogue that accidentally pissed off a powerful cult.

Made egg-free, gluten-free French toast in the air fryer today and holy poop was it good. I might try to find some other recipes just to see what I like best but man... For someone who hasn't tasted French toast in forever this was a treat.

I'm doing something most like me never achieve tomorrow... I'm starting a TBR from my bookshelf instead of a brand new book I just picked up. I know, I know. Applause welcome.
