Listened again to LeVar Burton read Ted Chiang’s The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate and it’s just so so good. I come back to it often. I feel it has much to teach the reader.

The reference library is a large, opalescent dome, like half a soap bubble. The shelves inside float in semi-gravity, so I swim through the air to the dream-recipe section. If I’m able to sleep tonight after all this excitement, I’ll get to choose what I see, for once.

I finished Mistborn. I see I’m having a similar experience as when I read Name of the Wind. It’s unclear to me why people love this so much but hey, to each their own!
