Beto wasn't great today. And I get that. But Olly Watkins played today and that's his fourth game without scoring. Beto is nowhere near the same level as Watkins, but he's got 2 goals this season and Watkins has none. Football is not always as simple as the best do best.

Not exactly great today. That second half was pretty poor. But we were clearly the better side and they caused us no problem at all. And we lost at home to Villa last year, so I suppose it's a point gained. But realistically, after 30 mins we ran out of ideas.

Good for most of that half and maybe should have been ahead. Give them 15 mins after halftime to get a goal and then if we don't, make a few changes. We've got some really good players on the bench now and Beto hasn't been great in particular.

Well we've not scored yet which is obviously bad, but we are playing really well, so hopefully the goal will come soon enough. 🙏🙈😂

I reckon it's going to take a while before I start to feel genuinely confident about Everton. There's still that doubt in my head after years of terrible football. But my rational brain looks at the lineups today and thinks home win and 3 goals for us.

I'm seeing lots of people saying we should just pay the money and sign Grealish now. But to me, that's exactly what Moshiri would have done. Southampton wanted 50m plus for Dibling but we got him for 35m plus 5. Because we negotiated hard. And next summer, we will negotiate for Grealish too.

I generally don't like it when there's an international break this early in the season, but I think it's actually come at a perfect time for us. We now have the opportunity to get more coaching in and to get certain players fit. Overall, this is the best start to the season we've had in years.
