I have a Commodore Amiga 500 Rev 5 board and in order to upgrade to newer ROMs or to use a PROM, I need to make modifications to deal with the OOPS shown in the schematic. Cut trace on each side of pin 31 and bodge Agnus, Kickstart, and the 68K together.

The UV Resin I used is stronger than the original plastic, also it cures in a matter of seconds (literally seconds). This corner, holding on only by that little area is now completely solid.

Holy sh*tballs! The SIDKick Pico firmware just got updated, adding filter curve adjustment options and - get this - presets! I have never seen a SID replacement with presets before. Set it on 6581R4AR and fired up my go-to test from the late, great Peter Clarke. Have a listen for yourself. 🎧

A LOT of tidying up and tuning still to do, but that's the first little loop with all 4 chips together. SAA, SID, AY & OPL Not sure if I'll need a ring buffer yet as the 6502ish @8mhz seems to be ploughing through the midi data. And it needs a keyboard and display so it can be a typewriter again.

It's been an interesting retro year, not at all what I expected. I got my first retro laptop, and I love it, an Elonex LT 386SXP/16. It's got a gorgeous orange gas plasma VGA display and a really nice keyboard.
