The news of Ian Watson’s passing is very sad. Only in recent years have I read his work, but his shadow has always loomed large over 40k. When I got the chance to interview him he was simply delightful to speak with; living up to his legend in the best possible ways.

I’ve just heard that one of the true greats of SF writing, Ian Watson, has passed away. A huge figure of the genre and an enormously entertaining character. A real loss.

Yoshihisa Kishimoto has passed away, the godfather of the beat-em-up genre. He truly was a genius, and created the template of most of my favorite games. Playing his games felt like I was the main character in a movie at a time where most didn’t. Here’s my beat-em-up cover from @hg101.bsky.social
