I always just end up sketching with the air brush to figure out my compositions for my drawings. It's a lot faster for me to sort my brain out and try a bunch of things compared to using the pencil.

I'm kind of finding a nice satisfying flow writing prose for gendocybin and then illustrating what I've written. There are still parts that I think it makes sense to make as a comic though, like action sequences for example. It feels really natural and like I'm getting to better express myself

I'm cycling between a few books right now: Disco Wednesdayyy by Maijo Otaro Re-read of The Passenger by Cormac McCarthy The Tunnel by William Gass Lord of Mysteries by Cuttlefish I'll be lucky if I finish one of these by the end of summer I think though.

There's also great people at comic cons, or at least when I was still going to them. People happy to feel common cause with others. And that's nice too. Some are successfull money wise, some aren't--but that undercurrent of "hey you like this stupid shit too, huh?" is great.

Honestly, one of the things I miss from going to cons is running into people with a touch of fame, and a full blown ego. Desperate to be seen as better than, while simultaneously desperate to sell themselves to the highest bidder.

To be Kojima or Refn, you have to be some level of a money-loving shit eater. To make the things they like to make, it requires a lot of money, which means they do a lot of things a serious artist with convictions would never do--which is why they get elevated.

Tower Dungeon continues to be good. Though the printing quality is a bit weird at times. Not sure what is going on there. It's so interesting to see the work from his whole career interpolate through this Dark Fantasy setting.

In any top 100 list, the only part worth looking into are 100-75. That's where the niche actually good shit is generally housed.

I think one of the more annoying aspects of getting old is getting gaslit about history you experienced and lived through by 20-30 year olds just quoting AI.

I think the target audience for mixtape are people who were too young to remember the 90s but have a nostalgia for it. Was Freaks and Geaks kind of a similar thing towards the 70s? Dazed and Confused maybe too? Stranger Things was for sure that. There's a ton of stuff about the 60s in that mode.
