I was in NYC yesterday, and was surprised to see less folks asking me for a dollar and more (many more. many many more) folks set up with multiple phone/camera rigs trying to be influencers; holding signs, pandering for content. A dollar I can handle. My time/soul? Nah.

So… this is stupid. Like really really stupid.

My work is on the Internet Archive. Words I got paid to write are now freely accessible to researches who needs names, dates, etc. That's rad! Cause Ive forgotten a lot of what I've known and the IA helps me with me own research quoting myself! Can't pit a price on that.

I'm still not 100% finished with my lecture build/prep, yet I find myself working on a quick zine about flaming asshole tattoos...

Only one person in my upcoming lecture series has an "convicted" date; I'll be attempting to navigate around the legacy of Dr. Brown as best I can.

Second ten mile run in a week. I’m an idiot.

I just watched a fella hold a door open for like- 20 people. Each person thanking him for his kindness. He says “I work here. I’m not being nice” and that, friends, is how we are in Philadelphia.

I randomly saw a post tonight from an old friend I've lost touch with, and who I miss very much. Not sure if our friendship ended consciously on their part or if we just organically drifted apart but it made me happy to see them. Social media is weird.

I've re-read @greatdismal.bsky.social's NEUROMANCER once a year since my first time reading it in 1990. It's weird growing up with a piece of fiction and revisiting it and seeing how it's changed with me. Starting my annual re-read this week.

My sweet boy turned nine this week.

I was sick a lot as a child- lot of surgeries and procedures. one day I saw a dead raccoon on our little back road and realized that what’s in it is in me. Liver, kidneys, heart. Can’t really explain it other than to say “moment of clarity” which led me, at 8, to atheism. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I was an odd kid. 🦝
