Coincidentally she's in the news this week cause Gillian Jacobs (the Bear, Community) said she's a huge Dakota North fan and desperately wants them to make a TV series, and cast her as Dakota. I randomly saw a post tonight from an old friend I've lost touch with, and who I miss very much. Not sure if our friendship ended consciously on their part or if we just organically drifted apart but it made me happy to see them. Social media is weird.

I've re-read @greatdismal.bsky.social's NEUROMANCER once a year since my first time reading it in 1990. It's weird growing up with a piece of fiction and revisiting it and seeing how it's changed with me. Starting my annual re-read this week.

My sweet boy turned nine this week.

I was sick a lot as a child- lot of surgeries and procedures. one day I saw a dead raccoon on our little back road and realized that what’s in it is in me. Liver, kidneys, heart. Can’t really explain it other than to say “moment of clarity” which led me, at 8, to atheism. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I was an odd kid. 🦝

Very sad to hear. The way she colored those proto-Vertigo Swamp Thing stories so beautifully is permanently etched in my brain. I’ve often said that the final page of Saga of the Swamp Thing 24 is my all-time favorite page of comic art, and her colors have a lot to do with that.

So sad to share that legendary colorist Tatjana Wood has passed away at the age of 99. Her pioneering painterly touch graced scores of DC & Vertigo series. She was truly one of a kind and a special friend. May her memory be a blessing.
