My favourite is a story of my grandad, a rural Scotsman, from a time when the world was more insular. It was said that spaghetti, a ‘new’ food to the UK came from the ’spaghetti tree’. Even when this was discovered to be fake, he still insisted it came from a tree (long dangling pasta, like willow).

My aunt is gifting me her old spinning wheel, and it ‘works’ in that it needs a lot of TLC but can be restored to working order. She’s been super apologetic and I’m like “no you don’t understand… you’ve given me the wonderful gift of a -project- and the excuse to do -research-“

The thing I learned doing this human generated content was that I have a specific voice that I kept wanting to use but couldn’t because of the parody style. My voice style matters, it’s unique and mine. However, enjoy a thread of a writer taking leave of their senses for a little bit.

The woman does a strange thing, it is part of an ancient ritual known only to a few people. She sits down and not only does she sit, she sits on a chair. Then while she is sitting she picks up a special tool, filled with graphite, which can make marks on a flat white surface to share her ideas.

Am I taking up too many pages, or too few pages? Am I blathering on too much about this scene instead of getting to the point, or am I getting too soon to the point and the readers have no idea what’s happening? The Comic Writer/Artist’s dilemma.
