LRS all of AM, from Dimi asking the Lions "why are you here?", to Dedue's return, to Rodrigue's death, build up to create the right conditions for the right person (Byleth) to say the right thing at the right moment to get through to him. In all his A supports, he affirms how each person helped him.

We see most of the Lions taking turns with Cathedral Duty. We see him continue to struggle post Gronder and get support from multiple people. "It should have been his friends" It was, it is, and Byleth is one of them, one uniquely placed to play their part at a critical moment. Like ALL of them...

it's been 7 years since Sekiro's release and while I only played the game for the first time a not so long ago, using this anniversary as an excuse to finish a piece of my favorite moment in the game ߹𖥦߹

on the topic of byleth's humanity, i really love this bit with leonie and her kind words to byleth after the fusion with sothis. despite everything, it's still you type beat

going back to this since someone discussed byleth's role in and bringing dimitri back and byleth being unburdened by fodlan's society, history or nobility the way other characters are definitely played a part in why i think it had to be byleth to guide him back
