I think this is more than a microaggression, but rather a form of violence that is designed to reduce the person in distress to something less than human. Because it tells them that they matter so little that even the basest level of empathy that can be given to an animal is not available to them.

I am a light fan of the Witcher TV series, have read a bit of book and played a bit of game and would like to do more of both at some point but I am not in a rush. I am not invested in "the right way" to adapt the story, that said, I didn't get very far and was immediately disappointed.

At my workplace, there is a customer who comes in wearing clothes emblazoned with the Herontage Moundation logo, and my co-workers talk about what a nice person she is, and she is nice and friendly to me, and my transness is not stealth. And this is terrifying.

If the only time you ever acknowledge trans guys who do the work and care for the trans community is to compare them against the bad trans guys, that's not actually acknowledging or respecting transmasculine people and how integral we are to holding up trans community building.
