One of the most unexpected parts of teaching for me is being treated like a useful idiot. I frequently find myself doing the Wonka scene, No, stop, don't. Then I have to do my best to just apologize to make it better. I was taught never to apologize unless you mean it. Such a weird system.

I hate that Amazon is so big that I get things shipped from Amazon warehouses. I have been boycotting Amazon and using mom and pop shops directly. I'm paying them 10% to 20% more. It upsets me to pay more only to have Amazon still benefit from the transaction and send me a prime box.
