Don’t know how to make people care about this but when journalists are arrested for doing their jobs, it’s not about public safety. It’s about discouraging witnesses.

The arrest of Don Lemon is insulting in a moment when the public and Epstein survivors are still waiting on 99% of the Epstein files—now more than 40 days past the legal deadline. This isn’t about accountability. What it is, plainly, is a warning shot to journalists.

They are arresting people who are documenting their crimes because they know that they are committing crimes and they don’t want the rest of the world to know it. They see the videos of Alex Pretti’s execution as the problem, rather than his execution.

They are charging Don Lemon under the FACE act (designed to prevent interference with abortion clinics) and Conspiracy to Deprive Rights (which dates back to the end of slavery, and is also known as the KKK act). Irony has been beaten to death with a sledgehammer.

You’re allowed to step back. You don’t have to defend things that rattle your bones. You know what you’re seeing. You feel the escalations like small earthquakes beneath us all. You don’t have to explain yourself. You can simply say: this isn’t okay anymore. That choice is available right now.

Not talking about politics Just talking about behavior. When someone can’t be questioned, criticized, or held accountable, that’s not leadership. What do we call it? Instead of arguing facts, let people sit with the tension of their contradicting beliefs. This is how free thinking returns.

If I had a billion dollars, I'd build a search engine. It would index the usual content on the internet, except it'd run it all through an AI slop classifier. So you could look up any page and get a heat map of AI slop-ness. And ofc, it'd downrank AI slop and uprank authentic human content.

It’s wild to think that someday there will be a whistleblower who names every ICE officer. Not for revenge or to cause harm, but for the historical record. Because when agents operate masked, without accountability, transparency eventually forces the truth into the light.

Term limits for tech CEOs. Clearly this many years being a billionaire and everyone nodding at everything you say rots your brain and soul. Power is meant to be limited and distributed, both in time, and in amount. We’ve known for thousands of years what unlimited power does to a human mind.

As we work to combat the Right-wing smear campaigns against Renee Good and Alex Pretti, I hope we'll also think of the countless others--disproportionately people marginalized by racism--who have been vilified to justify state violence and abuse, and who haven't had legions come to their defense.
