On my God!! I’m so sorry @igreggreene.bsky.social !! I just realized I missed my “Why I Love Horror” slot yesterday! I had to go into work unexpectedly, then over to a car dealership to deal with my expiring lease, then out to dinner with my wife. I was out of the house from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm!

It feels like all my favorite authors have joined forces in an effort to make me cancel my upcoming trip to Italy 😕

While it’s virtually impossible for me to pick an absolute favorite from among @paultremblay.bsky.social books, I will say THE BEAST YOU ARE (the titular novella from his wonderful 2024 collection) is IMO the most consistently beautiful thing he’s written to date. Frankly, I’m awestruck by it.

I ran into @brackenmacleod.bsky.social recently and told him that I was looking forward to grabbing his new book LET NOT YOUR SORROW DIE at the Spooktastic Book Fair, only to discover that I’d pre-ordered the book from @badhandbooks.bsky.social the moment it was announced. Because of course I did 😎

Man. ROAD OF BONES by @cgolden.bsky.social is one helluva good book. It’s got a host of fully fleshed-out characters, a fantastic (and super creepy!) back story, and lots of action. It’s wonderfully written and legitimately unsettling. What more could you ask for?! This one is HIGHLY recommended ☠️
