Definitely noticing less people caring about Pokémon Champions distributions over ones on the main series. Having things locked to Champions and shifting most distributions to it is going to be really bad long term

Seriously. Every time this happens, and it's happened routinely especially to queer artists, it's always going to force a few hundred beautiful passion projects to never see the light of day. It feels like the reward for being a successful queer artist is to become a pariah.

Five nights at Freddys guy can continuously donate to republicans, jk Rowling can ruin entire branches of politics with a hatred legal defense fund, but the digital circus and Steven universe creators were queer and made choices fans didn't like and for that they get hate campaigns to ruin them.

Indie creators shouldn’t have to turn into emotionless cryptids that appear once in a blue moon to share their works and otherwise have no online presence in order to survive *checks notes* creating a popular cartoon. But I don’t know how else they’re supposed to navigate this bullshit.

Is this the future that real artists look forward to online? With AI not only devastating our job markets and stealing our work, but also barraging us with endless accusations that we didn’t create our own work?

Like, a large part of what caused me to burn out after Pokopia & Champions wasn't due to the sheer volume of content covered so quickly (though that didn't help), it was my enthusiasm to continue getting sapped by the large amount of sites and apps that just scraped Serebii.

I really like how Pokémon has been pushing to have more female protagonists in their recent animation projects.

So let's talk about this because people are, naturally, going nuts. Amazon have put a placeholder price so they can take preorders. If they highball it and it's lower, great. If they lowball and it's higher, they have to fulfil. This is in no way indicative of actual price.

I hope Tom Kane knew how much he meant to us all. Voicing beloved characters we grew up with. For me, it wasn't just the Professor in PowerPuff girls, but Mr. Herriman from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. One of my own Original Characters took heavy inspiration from him. May he rest in peace.
