IM works with 500ms latency. Relaying audio or video in a call does not which is why one wants to run relay servers (TURN) really close to the user which means AWS, Azure or GCP.

The (super)bad news is that they rejected the #RTC devroom, though... 😢 I can't remember the last time that happened, I think it's always been there? No room for #webrtc #sip and other stuff this time around... or #moq, since I'm pretty sure we would have seen submissions on that too 2/2
