I've n pondering a lot how the end of the accessible, free/low cost FE based counselling courses that provided opportunities for ppl like me to train has coincided with the rise of Scoped and the demand for govt regulation. Training was handed over to capitalism - what did they think would happen?

Most of us will be baffled at the stupidity: deliberately imposing personal aesthetic preferences over inclusivity & communication. But it’s a good illustration of the importance of aesthetics to the right, & of the fact that authoritarians don’t just want to impose values but also pure preferences.
