It’s a huge one! Today we publish Paradise Lost in the Oxford Milton, ed by Thomas Corns & David Loewenstein. I can’t begin to describe the herculean effort & sheer commitment that the project has demanded of the editors - it’s awe-inspiring to witness this triumph

Along with almost all of my colleagues in history, this afternoon I got an email telling me that I am at risk of redundancy. It looks like the University of Exeter sent this email to the vast majority of people in Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty. Bit hard to breath right now.

Making a rare appearance on here to ask for thoughts on an embroidery from 1668. Do you have any idea what Old Testament story/stories these panels represent? Previously labeled as Abraham and Isaac but I’m not convinced. I think they may be the same figures in both. Thank you for your ideas!
