Just remembering the time years ago when I attended an Easter party in San Francisco and instead of chocolate we were all given hard boiled eggs to decorate. Which was weird. Anyway, I covered mine in drawings of the Endless in the style of P Craig Russell, but lost for being in black and white.

Apparently, there's a building where some tables and chairs are in the wrong place for a meeting next Tuesday. For some reason, they reckon the best way to address this is for me to make a seven hour round trip to that location on a Good Friday to move them from one part of the room to the other.

For the last few years I've been stuck with a phone where clarity just collapsed even on x2 zoom or any kind of shade or half light. Fortunately the new one performs much better. All these were taken from the spot, at various zooms up to x50, only getting a little soft even at the x50 mark.

This signed Sam Kieth print has moved with me from flat to flat and house to house for the best part of 30 years. His energy and imagination were incomparable and the savage, strange beauty of his art is unique in the history of comics. His death is a huge loss to the worlds of comics and art.

Had a brilliant time at Doctor Who con Flux last week, including meeting the wonderful Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill. So funny and kind in both their panel and fan meet. So much laughter, from their favourite motorway services, to giggling over the end of the Big Finish audio The Violet Hour.

Trip going swimmingly so far. Also managed to pack four bags for three days and still leave my boots behind.

In other news, i feel like I picked a bad day to be flying internationally in the morning at the same time as writing the news for a Doctor Who site. Predict much furious typing by the departure gates.

Downside to the day: Christopher Eccleston cancels Starfury. Upside: Two episodes of The Daleks' Master Plan have been found. Gonna chalk that up as an overall win.

First time getting back to any kind of running after months of strength training and shockingly easier than when I left it. Less discomfort, more stamina. Due to a combo of better nutrition these days, more strength in the stabilising muscles, and being better at listening to my body, no doubt.

Flux is next week. Next week. Starting to get hyped up now! It feels like going to Doctor Who Disneyland.

The trouble with living on a hill is that they are, by and large, surrounded by Not Hill. So even when your house doesn't flood it can still make getting out of, or in this case in to, town problematic. So it's a cancelled train and a replacement bus dropping as close along the bypass as it dares.

If I had a nickel for every formerly animated Mark Hamill villain role that Jared Leto has ruined in a live action film, I'd have two nickel. Which isn't a lot, but it's unfortunate that it happened twice.
