Late night epiphany: being forced to lie by both of my parents in various circumstances throughout my childhood is probably why I overshare and keep so few secrets now. I still have a couple mysteries but nothing like hiding my dad's girlfriends from each other like when I was a kid. Growth. 🤷‍♀️

I had a good run but the ghosts of Christmas past finally showed up in the final hours and left me crying over those who are no longer here to spend the holidays with. The tears are good though. They keep me close to the ones I miss. Hope everyone found a little peace somewhere this season.

I had lovely time with wonderful people for a few days but it's left me with a completely depleted social battery. To be fair, the battery life there is pretty minimal to begin with.

The fatigue is extra intense today. I made the mistake of doing something two days ago (finally got the Halloween decorations up!) and I've been paying the price ever since.

I am the designated caretaker of @eldritch.bsky.social as he recovers from surgery. My body however decided it was time for my own chronic issues to flare with a vengeance so I am hunched over with sciatic pain while also itchy from hives on my arms and chest courtesy of my thyroid. This is fine.

I've been up for 36 hours. 17 hours of which was in the ER with @eldritch.bsky.social until he finally got admitted for a surprise surgery. It went well but after over 20 years, it's always strange spending the night without him. But then, this is a special level of tired.

Journaling about my dreams before starting my day. Problem is I dreamt of my mom last night so now I'm at my desk drying tears before clocking in. It will be 16 years that she's been gone next month but goddamn are there times when that pain feels as fresh as ever.

Once again, why do people find it appropriate to have their phones at full volume in the middle of a waiting room? I'm here to deal with my chronic pain. I don't also want to hear every beep and boop from your game while I wait to be medically gaslit.

I know there's adjustment periods for new meds that can be extensive and a deep struggle. Still, I didn't expect to start the week with itchy hives and end it with body crippling fatigue but here we are.

I had an appointment with a new doctor today. After years of being gaslit and dismissed, my nerves were raw beforehand expecting more of the same. However, she immediately validated me and got some treatment plans set up. Still tired and hurting but the feeling of relief is lovely.
