I think I realized what my issue is with these IT adaptations: Pennywise is just scarier as text on a page. the second you render him as a physical, visual presence, it’s like…this is just a guy in a clown costume. I guess what I’m saying is the idea of IT is far more disturbing than the image.

I think people have a problem with ambiguity in fiction. In Blade Runner for instance, the whole point is that we don’t know whether or not Deckard is a replicant. There is evidence on both sides. The point is the not knowing. People, up to and including Ridley Scott, have a hard time with that.

Next year, the Silver Age turns 70.

this is probably a dumb thing to say but its kinda interesting how the only single pages of a comic book (assuming no ads, and that you're ending on an even numbered page) are the first and last pages.

Sometimes I think about the fact that 50 Shades of Grey was apparently someone's repurposed Twilight fan fiction that they made millions of dollars off of. As long as it ain't hurtin' nobody, put your stupid shit out in the world and if anybody tells you no do it anyway.

one of my favorite Buzz Aldrin moments is when he was throwing away unneeded equipment onto the surface of the Moon...and the seismometer they put there detected it back on Earth! he said something like "You can't get away with anything anymore". what an absolute legend.

A two page spread from a pitch that didn't go anywhere. The pages were amazing ( colours by Doug Garbark ) and I couldn't believe that the book didn't get picked up. This was the project that made me say no more pitch work. It was also the start of me thinking about doing my own book.

“The proliferation of AI slop has created an environment where anybody can accuse any comic creator of using AI in their work.” this is also a strange, passive way to frame the issue…the proliferation doesn’t create anything. The PEOPLE spreading the AI slop create that environment.

the alleged use of AI is obviously bad, but with Ultimate Oz, I’m also bothered by the unoriginality of it. It’s taking public domain work, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, published 125 years ago, and just slapping a new coat of paint on it. Are we condemned to endlessly remix the work of the dead?

Okay yeah, This feels like a mix of AI Slop, Trace Photo Ref, and Actual (mostly rushed) Art, all made to hide the duct tape and glue. Im kinda mad I backed the Kickstarter, checking that now they REALLLLLLY hid this. AWA Studios really pocketed 100K in Kickstarter Money and ran with this.
