Thread. Also, I don't disagree with this generally; LLMs and/or generative "AI" is here to stay and being integrated into pre-existing programs/software in ways that are now inextricable. I do think there's a difference between it being a tool for, rather than an abdication of, personal creation.

I mean, you don't have to convince me, I do what an LLM is supposed to do, but much better, much cheaper and fueled almost entirely on snacks and Coke Zero. But then I want pesky things like human rights and a salary, so

They think writers can be replaced because they don't understand what writing is effective, yes, but don't discount the desire to cut human labor out of the process entirely, not just for "cost savings" but because the management class and especially the investor class just fucking hate humans.
