NYT video review confirms this. Pretti had a 2nd Am right to carry a firearm. But even if he didn’t he wasn’t pointing it at anyone or threatening agents. There is no legal justification for the execution-style shooting & no basis for DHS’s claim he was there to massacre them. He was a helper.

This is an actual post from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: Praising ICE after Alex Pretti was killed, blaming the Democratic leadership of Minnesota, and writing that ICE is greater/better than Minnesota. He is actively demeaning the people of Minnesota just hours after Pretti was murdered.

Secretary Noem offered assistance to New York ahead of the impending snowstorm. I shared that the fastest way to help is for ICE to back off so people feel safe accessing warming centers, shelters, hospitals, and houses of worship.

The hope was that public video would make law enforcement think twice, resting on the naive idea that we're dealing with generally law-abiding officers. ICE beats people up and kills in full knowledge they're being filmed. They have lethal impunity.
