The misogynistic comments about Diane Abbott, the longest serving Black MP, recounted with glee by Paul Ovenden are utterly despicable. The fact that the Party knew about this and swept it under the carpet until it was reported in the press, is unforgivable.

Today, MPs discuss the Employment Rights Bill - and Lords attempts to weaken it. MPs must reject attempts to weaken guaranteed hours protections and new steps towards collective bargaining. This Bill must be a first step to new employment protections and union rights.

The Labour Party was founded to represent the interests of the working class. Any efforts to water down the #EmploymentRightsBill are a slap in the face to working class communities. The Bill must be delivered in full.

The Labour Government is continuing Tory austerity. By taxing wealth instead, it can: ✅ scrap the two child benefit cap ✅ roll out free school meals for all ✅ invest heavily in our public services ✅ fully renationalise the NHS
