Today, I stood with midwives outside Parliament to call for fair funding, sustainable training, and secure employment pathways. Despite chronic staffing shortages in the NHS, many newly qualified midwives are now graduating into unemployment. The government must address this.

This weekend, Brixton witnessed two appalling incidents of violent crime, which left one man dead and another fighting for his life. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and those injured. Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to call police on 101.

The Metropolitan Police have allocated the route for the annual Nakba Day march to a far right Unite the Kingdom protest. I’ve signed this EDM urging them to reconsider their decision, which favours the far right over Palestine on this important historic date.

I had a blast at @LocalBrixton's fundraiser on Sunday, raising money for two incredible charities: @SMPBrixton and Fleet Bay Inshore Rescue Service. A huge thank you to the organisers and to everyone who attended and made it such a meaningful and impactful day.

The government's "cumulative disruption" powers represent another worrying attack on our right to protest. I cannot be in Parliament for tonight's votes on the Crime & Policing Bill and have been paired. Proud to sign this amendment to remove these powers from the bill.

Menstrual stigma socially conditions women to conceal pain, push through it and stay silent at work. Statutory menstrual leave is not a radical policy, it is a practical, compassionate and long-overdue step towards a fairer and healthier working society.
