I have a vague memory of Ocarina of Time's Spooky Mask preventing ReDeads from attacking you - I can't find a single source for this online, though. I think it just feels odd that the Skull Mask and Bunny Hood have practical uses, but the Spooky Mask doesn't.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Hooktail eats 8 Toads to recover health. The game ensures these sacrificial Toads always stay in order to be eaten in the end. They are Mario's biggest fans, will always show up, and no action can make them leave.
