I see this all over my FYP now and it's so sad, but also an important reminder that social media play an important role in facilitating connections and mobilizing people. Banning an app is never about "protecting the kids" - it is about silencing the voices that someone does not want to be heard.

I likely missed the discourse around this. There are some sentiments I agree w/ here, but since my own work is the critical study of the all too often lauded concept of "the public sphere" I'd like to say a few things about the opening claim here that people fleeing X are "giving up" on that ideal

But...why? Why would anyone even want to take this class (and pay for it??) what is the point of education if this is how you do it? We are so doomed, not because AI exists but because people exist who think this is a good idea.
