My wife's neice loves my chocolate chip cookies and when she was in town a few months ago, asked if I could send her some for her birthday (this Sunday). I had no idea what to send them in. One last platinum for the year! E33 had a great story and it grew on me the more time I put in, but it's deeply flawed in fundamental ways - too many to warrant the GOTY accolades. It does have some of the finest music I've heard in a video game, however.

Nintendo (and Capcom) trying to fleece kids through an elaborate RNG-powered physical DLC system that is Amiibo trading cards is deeply twisted and disgusting to expose young brains to -$2 per card or more for Animal Crossing and Street Fighter 6. My Flipper Zero is about to do some serious work.

We want the finest of games available to humanity! We want them HERE, and we want them NOW.

It’s a genuine “look for the helpers” moment - I truly believe outside the vacuum of social media and news cycles where fear is being perpetuated, lives the average person who desires the best for those around them.

This is old school and based as hell honestly. We're going to get a full and complete game to spend years unpacking, and you just know Sakurai left us a ton of shit to discover. They even announced this with three $50 Amiibos not slated to come out for another 3-5 months.

I'm the last person to discover this, but Astro Bot is the finest game on PS5 and arguably the best 3D platformer in decades. Just packed with joy in every respect. The PES soccer bot wins best bot antics (followed by the Rez avatar). Megamix Mastery can go to hell. This game needs more content.

Finally a Wrapped relevant to me (with 2x playtime counts due to console idling, alas). I'm also not done yet - I'm midway through Astro Bot finally, and I will probably finish at least one other game before the year is up - Shadow of the Colossus is my current leading contender.

Took my partner to @twentysidedtavern.bsky.social's gig in LA on Sunday for her birthday, and it was an absolute delight. Neil Newbon was tons of fun and Madelyn Murphy stole the show pretty much the entire evening. A great way to spend an evening if they're in town (they're in LA till Jan 4th).

Another bout of old business complete: 3-starring Uncharted 4's insanely fun co-op Survival mode on Crushing difficulty. This required the partnership of myself (GMT -8), a Brit (GMT), and a Malaysian (GMT +8). A nightmare to schedule time together! And a fun way to make new friends.
