Great news! 🎉 the legends over at Matter and Form have graciously donated one of their "THREE" scanners to the 3D scan library cause! Here's a Wavebird test scan—no prep, paint or post processing and completed in under 20 mins. Pretty impressive and has great detail.

Design is now complete and I think I've settled on the name. Expect release in a day or so 😎

First assembly went well, only a few little adjustments to make to improve tolerances.

Looking utterly phenomenal in person, assembly happening later today.

Test prints for the Saturn Slim underway. First proper unit should be assembled this weekend.

An update: Yes, the Saturn Slim is still happening! The reception to the initial design was mixed, I also wasn't happy with the mechanical design and assembly so I shelved it until I was ready to come back to it. I've come back to it, and it will use the same BOM as the Saturn Mini.

It can be difficult to gauge scale from pictures so here is the Saturn Mini next to a Saturn CD drive. By volume it's a 70% reduction from an OEM Saturn while maintaining correct scaling. I will be releasing a guide on how to perform the fold in a couple weeks along with releasing the case files.

It's been an utter grind for the past 3 days but I think I'm ready to call version 1.0 *complete*

Saturn fold is working!, the mini case will need to be tweaked a bit and made slightly larger (an extra 5mm-7mm on each axis) to accommodate everything. Feels good man 😎

Made good progress on the Saturn fold this weekend. Learned what does and doesn't work. Confidence levels are high.

Here's something I started a while back but have yet to share publicly. A theoretical Saturn Mini, it requires the VA-SG variant of the Saturn mainboard and a board fold that I have yet to fully develop and test. I've got two projects to finish up before I get back to seeing if this is possible 🤞

A fun little Sunday side project, after finding out the Xbox boot is completely generated on-the-fly (the reactor model doesn't actually exist) I decided to recreate it. It seems the Xbox only uses 6 different types of primitive shapes to build the entire scene.
