I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines. Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."

Every day *I Dream of Poppets* gets a little more polished. I hope all the work shows when it comes time to present it to the world.

I knew this then. I love this now.

Star Trek should be about hope for the future and about humanity. The phasers and aliens and space wars and stuff are all set-up for that. Kindness. Communication. Love. Unity. Peace. Common ground. Science, medicine and technology working towards those goals. Live long and prosper.

The world is on fire. And yet I write. It's not easy and it feels selfish to focus on writing when there's so much worse out in the world. But there's something to be said for art. Art is resistance. I resist.

It has been a fun holiday, minus catching Covid for it. I'm looking forward to the New Year's and I hope you all have a new year full of joy and peace.

Back to the world of the living! My computer took a long walk off a short chipset and as a result, I was out of commission for a bit. Glad to be back.

The part of being an indie author they don't warn you about when you start writing: You have to maintain a social media presence. I seem to have a really hard time doing that AND writing at the same time. Maybe the same brain energy is for both.

I have been out of touch for a while, folks, and I am sorry for that. I Dream of Poppets has completely taken over my life. Let's look forward to finally finishing writing it!

I've just printed labels for my first book boxes. It's so amazing and surreal and I HATE tissue paper now.

My new WIP--working title "I Dream of Poppets"--is a story of a world when humans never have to feel their bad emotions. Magical dolls, called poppets, absorb all the unwanted feelings. What happens when a virus wipes out the poppet population? What's yours?
