Some new theoretical economics papers modelling the implications of AGI on the economy. These two papers argue that a true AGI-level AI (equivalent to a human genius), if achieved, would eventually displace most human labor and reduce the economic value of remaining human work to near-zero.

Academic bleg: I am writing a project for incoming postdoc applications, and a part of it is on the grounds (and limits) of animal-based disobedience/resistance. Is that a good idea when applying to national/European programs? No mention of violence, just civil/uncivil disobedience.

Re-reading feedback from a rejected postdoc that I will re-apply to, and I see that a major weakness of the project was that I didn't specify how my ideas "will directly influence democratic practices." I am a philosopher - and an early-career one. What kind of *direct* influence can I have? 🫠🫠

I've already been to a few gigs in Dublin, and I am puzzled that openers' names are seldom announced - not on websites, and definitely not on the tickets. Typically, I just find out when I am already in the venue. What's the point, then, of having openers if they are not given visibility? 😔
