I've been getting back into comics while I wait for more info from my concept job, and I thought I'd make a post about something very important to me, which is COMIC PANEL VARIATION and HOW TO THINK ABOUT IT.

Here's a small portion of an animated bumper I made to promote a video game from @owlcatgames.bsky.social (Blind Descent). Seeing the latest advances in generative AI and how they've invaded space, I feel lucky to have at least produced this little piece from start to finish 🥲.

Comics in general is an excellent media for hiding little details in the art or the dialog. In a movie or animation you might miss things because of timing, but a panel you can analyze as long as you like. Even a shift in characters demenour or the way a speech bubble is drawn could be a clue!

Noticed some clipping issue with my webcomic cover on Tapas. Apparently layout template had changed somewhere in the 2024 (Oops). The current cover was hard to get working with updated template, so had to give the characters some leg extensions. I swear I'll draw a proper new cover some day. -.-"

Typos are, have been, and will seemingly ALWAYS be my Acheles heal. I mean, Achilles heel. Dagnabbit! ;) Now that the holiday storyline is over, the strip will be returning to a once-a-week schedule… at least while I suss out how much extra work doing these in color will take. lol.
