NIH staff are being required to fully fund ~ 50% of their grants. This means that all 4 years of an award will be paid out of this appropriation. This will help them get the appropriated funds spent, but will mean they can only fund (1/2 + 1/4*1/2) = 5/8 has many grants as they would have otherwise.

So excited to announce our preprint describing a high-throughput method for mapping connectivity across neuron types! Using a combination of optogenetics, voltage imaging, and mFISH in over 1000 neurons, we describe new connectivity motifs in long-range inputs to the motor cortex.

Many animals use "adaptive control" to pursue moving objects, relying on flexible feedback loops to adjust their movement gain over time. But how do neural circuits actually implement this? Here, we show how adaptive control in Drosophila pursuit involves two specialized parallel feedback loops.
